Litigation
Campaign Legal Center v. FEC (Case No. 20-0588) On February 27, Plaintiff filed a Complaint for Declaratory and Injunctive Relief in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Campaign Legal Center, et al. v. FEC (Case No. 19-2336) On March 5, Plaintiffs filed an Opposition to Correct the Record’s and Hillary For America’s Amended Motion to Dismiss.
Doe, et al. v. FEC (Case No. 19-484) On February 14, the United States Solicitor General filed a Brief for The Respondent in Opposition to a Petition for Certiorari on behalf of the Commission in the United States Supreme Court. On March 4, Petitioners filed a Reply Brief in support of their petition.
Free Speech for People v. FEC (Case No. 19-1722) On March 2, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a Memorandum Opinion and Order granting the Commission’s Motion to Dismiss.
Outreach
On March 2-5, Commissioner Ellen L. Weintraub discussed the role of the Commission and campaign finance law with students from Agnes Scott College, Emory University, Emory U. School of Law, Georgia State University, and Spelman College.
On March 4, Communications Specialist Zainab Smith discussed the role and work of the Commission with a multi-country delegation visiting the U.S. as part of the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
On March 4, Press Officer Judith Ingram discussed campaign finance disclosure rules and the role of the Commission with a group of journalists from Central Asia hosted by the U.S. State Department.

Federal Elections 2018: Election Results for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives is available. The data was compiled from the official vote totals published by state election offices. This publication identifies the federal and state agencies responsible for the disclosure of campaign finances, lobbying, personal finances, public financing, candidates on the ballot, election results, spending on state initiatives and other financial filings. Other election-related resources
Videos on protecting U.S. elections. The FBI’s Protected Voices initiative provides videos designed to help political campaigns protect themselves from foreign influence. The 2019 videos offer guidance on ransomware, business email compromise, supply chain, social media literacy, and foreign influence operations. Other videos, released in 2018, include cyber hygiene topics such as social engineering, patching, router hardening, and app and browser safety.
