Commission meetings and hearings

On January 14, the Commission met in executive session.

Outreach

On January 15, Commissioner Ellen L. Weintraub discussed Commission operations and campaign finance law with students from the Washington Center.

Also on January 15, Commissioner Weintraub discussed the role and work of the Commission with a delegation from Indonesia visiting the United States as part of the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.

On January 17, Commissioner Weintraub spoke at a symposium on foreign interference in U.S. elections and the role of campaign finance law. The event took place at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in Columbus, OH, and was sponsored by the Ohio State Technology Law Journal.

Upcoming educational programs

January 22, 2020: The Commission will host reporting webinars for candidate committees.

February 25-26, 2020: The Commission will host a regional conference in San Antonio, TX for candidates, political party committees, and political action committees.

Federal Elections 2018: Election Results for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives is available. The data was compiled from the official vote totals published by state election offices. The 2019 Combined Federal State Disclosure and Election Directory is available. This publication identifies the federal and state agencies responsible for the disclosure of campaign finances, lobbying, personal finances, public financing, candidates on the ballot, election results, spending on state initiatives and other financial filings. Other election-related resources

Videos on protecting U.S. elections. The FBI’s Protected Voices initiative provides videos designed to help political campaigns protect themselves from foreign influence. The 2019 videos offer guidance on ransomware, business email compromise, supply chain, social media literacy, and foreign influence operations. Other videos, released in 2018, include cyber hygiene topics such as social engineering, patching, router hardening, and app and browser safety.
