Responding to RFAIs

August 12, 2019

From time to time, committees registered with the FEC may receive Requests for Additional Information (RFAIs) from the analysts who review their reports. If you receive one, you’ll have 35 days from the date of the RFAI letter to respond. Be sure to pay attention to the response due date in the upper right hand corner of the letter and respond as soon as possible—the FEC can’t issue an extension under any circumstances, and failure to respond may result in further Commission action.

Please communicate directly with the analyst identified in the RFAI. Responses may be filed using the Reports Analysis Division’s contact form or Form 99, but emails sent to info@fec.gov or other FEC addresses will not be considered.

Please visit our website for more information about RFAIs and what to include in your response.
