The FEC’s September 2 Webinar on Independent Expenditures & Pre-Election Communications is nearly sold out. As a result, the Commission will offer another two-hour webinar session on the preceding day, Tuesday, September 1. Both of these educational, interactive webinars will be held live.

Staff from the FEC’s Information and Reports Analysis Divisions will review the regulations and reporting requirements for individuals, political committees and organizations who make independent expenditures, electioneering communications and coordinated communications. Participants will learn how to differentiate between these types of communications, and the consequences of making one rather than another. We’ll also review disclaimer requirements for different types of pre-election communications and work through several scenarios to demonstrate how and when to report communications. During this two-hour webinar, participants will be able to interact with the FEC’s presenters and chat hosts in real time through a Q&A pod and poll questions.

Webinar information

An email containing a link to workshop materials, technical information and additional instructions will be sent to registered participants the day before the webinar.

Registration information

The cost to attend the webinar is $30. To register, visit the FEC Training Payment page on Pay.gov (the government’s secure portal for online payments). A full refund will made for all cancellations received before 5 p.m. Eastern on Friday, August 28; no refunds will be made for cancellations received after that time. Additionally, please note that refunds of automated clearinghouse (ACH) payments are not readily available.
