Non-election-related disbursements by the SSF

A political committee that is not an authorized committee of a candidate, including an SSF, may expend its funds as it chooses, as long as it does so for any lawful purpose consistent with the Federal Election Campaign Act and regulations. SSFs should be aware that such non-election-related disbursements are subject to other laws outside the Commission’s jurisdiction (for example, tax laws and lobbying laws).
