How to report

Voided contributions

Political action committees occasionally issue contributions that the recipient does not deposit.  When a contribution is returned, uncashed, or lost, the PAC reports a voided contribution to keep from deflating their cash on hand.

Reporting on PAC forms

Political action committees report the voided contribution as a negative entry on Form 3X, Line 23.

Al Verroes for Congress did not deposit the PAC's contribution. The PAC discloses the voided contribution on Schedule B, supporting Line 23. It includes the candidate committee’s  address, date that the void is made, amount voided as a negative entry, the candidate’s information, and a clear purpose of disbursement, "Void of 7/12/18 contribution."
