Pre-election reports
Pre-election reports are pre-primary, pre-general, pre-convention and pre-runoff reports and are due 12 days before the election.
House and Senate campaign committees
House and Senate campaign committees file these reports for any primary, runoff or general election their candidate is involved in. This includes special elections and elections where a candidate is unopposed.

Presidential campaign committees
Presidential campaign committees that file quarterly during election years must also file a pre-election report for each election in which the candidate seeks nomination or election. Presidential committees that file monthly reports during election years must file a pre-election report and a post-general election report in lieu of the monthly reports due in November and December.
