Filing candidate reports

After registration, authorized committees file regularly with the FEC. Those reports are made available in the campaign finance data section of this website.

How to file

There are two ways to file reports: electronically or by paper.

Senate candidates and committees can fill out any form (web or PDF) but must file by paper with the Secretary of the Senate.

With the exception of mandatory electronic filers, House candidates and committees can choose whether to file electronically or by paper. They file with the FEC.

Note: committees that file by paper can install and generate reports with filing software and then submit them by paper.

What to file

A committee’s obligation to file regular financial disclosure reports continues until the committee requests to terminate and that request is approved by the FEC.
